DESCRIPTION

20 years after the Fall of the Wall the exhibition „Berlin 89/09 – Art Between Traces of the Past and Utopian Futures“ temporarily takes stock of the change that resulted from this historical event in the German capital.

On display are numerous works of international renowned artists who gave attention to the, partly dramatic, partly impalpable changes in the architectural and urban patterns of the city, all Germany and wide swathes of Middle and Eastern Europe. Many of the works were previously not shown in Berlin. Some will expressly be created for this show, others were created for certain events or places and will be reconstructed for the exhibition.
