DESCRIPTION

Constant Dullaart’s work explores contemporary modes of access, visibility and (mis)representation associated with global spread of information technologies. The title of this show by the Dutch artist references the first ever photoshopped image, Jennifer in Paradise. Along with theme parks, Special Economic Zones and the birth of the Compact Disc, it is a catalyst for Dullaart’s meditations upon the act of translating between human and machine, image and code, part and whole.

-Accompanying events during Berlin Art Week 17-22 Sep -

A premiere featuring recordings made in the Windows of the World theme park in China, built in 1994 to show the Chinese people in the special economic zone of Shenzhen what the rest of the world looks like. This project mixes other miniature representations of the world in Beijing, Mumbai, and the destruction of miniature Europe in Brussels.

Kindly supported by Mondriaan Foundation and DullTech.
