Collector’s talk – with Thomas Olbricht and Jonas Burgert
Three years of me Collectors Room Berlin / Olbricht Foundation:
Thomas Olbricht opened the exhibition space in Auguststrasse in Berlin-Mitte three years ago, in 2010. It marked the launch not only of our first exhibition, but also the Wunderkammer, and the café and shop. We have hosted nine exhibitions since then, featuring works from the Olbricht Collection and the collections of Antoine de Galbert (Paris) and Selim Varol (Turkey/Düsseldorf). In the short space of three years, some 487 events in the accompanying programme have given visitors the chance to exchange ideas with experts, artists, and collectors. In particular, our younger visitors have increasingly become the focus of the Olbricht Foundation’s art education and outreach work. Over 3000 children and young people were involved in workshops and guided tours through the exhibitions last year alone.
To coincide with Gallery Weekend 2013, Thomas Olbricht now joins Jonas Burgert to take stock of the last three years of me Collectors Room Berlin / Olbricht Foundation.
Thomas Olbricht has followed Jonas Burgert’s development as an artist from the start of his career. Together, they will share details on the friendship between collector and artist, on Burgert’s work, and will doubtlessly have a few insider tales to tell. Jan Kage will be moderating the discussion.
As part of the event, KUNST magazine will present its new special publication of collectors’ talks with Jan Kage: ‘KUNST Magazin Sammlergespräche’, edited by Jennifer Becker and Stefan Haupt (published by Offizin).
The collectors’ talks are held in partnership with KUNST magazine and Independent Collectors.
Hosted by: Jan Kage
Event in German.
