Jody Christopherson Bio

JODY CHRISTOPHERSON is a performer, writer, photographer, and filmmaker living in New York.

Reviewers have called her a "captivating performer" who is "the antithesis of the manic pixie dream girl", a "rock monster" and "a talent to watch not to mention a pleasure to hear", whose works are a "cinema verite", compared to early Richard Linklater films, Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova’s music as well as Margaret Atwood's writing.

Recent projects include:

St Kilda (writer/performer) premiering in Minneapolis at The Southern Theater Oct 26-Nov 3rd, St Kilda is a horror play/theatrical mono-concert. Performed in near darkness, live foley and vocal looping pedals create a foreboding soundscape which underscores a tale of supernatural horror.  Instruments include violin bows on bowls of water, monochords, pie tins full of salt, folk singing and more. This narrative is inspired by the 1930 evacuation of Hirta, St Kilda's only inhabitable island, Christopherson's Nebraskan/Scottish heritage and the role that music plays in women's narratives.
