My digital works are experiments in using geometric form or organic abstractions to create environments. Influenced by the architecture and the sleek lines of modernist design, I investigate geometric or organic spatial arrangements using an elemental and minimalist sensibility. I especially like repeated elements and optical complexities in creating escapist environments.  Light & space movement, reflective qualities of light play an important aspect of my work, whether the genre is in photography or in capturing a scene from nature, the simplified forms, elements of color and stimulus of light are major components in my work. That is the true essence of beauty in my mind.

I consider my works "constructions" that layer and arrange light and color thru moving forms. They are intuitively driven and seek simplicity in composition that invites the viewer to move into a place of speculation. The works are inspired by subjects as varied as light & space/time, stimulus, science and nature.

In my Light series, I have referenced the work of Robert Delaunay, as I aim to apply the same “simultaneist” rhythms of abstract colors to designs devised to diffuse light into color forms, and the effects of spatial projection. It is an equation between color light, eye, brain, and the soul.

Originally, I created a series of filtered digital works. The works quickly transformed into larger investigations that involved moving out of the containment of photography. I decided to use a horizontal film format inside an LED lightbox to expose color, and later to facilitate movement and create a rambling expansiveness. I call these pieces "study sections" because I am investigating a sectional part of a much larger whole.
