A photographic journey through the Florida Everglades, Echo's Breath presents an ominous and engrossing oasis rife with subtle senses of distortion. Composed of a multitude of sutured and superimposed digital images, each photographic tableaux presents a densely layered fragment of the sylvan landscape. Alluding to the Greek myth of Echo, the exhibition's title speaks to the fluid resonance pervading the entanglement of images in each composition. Disparities of spatial depth and focal length among source images inflect the work with hints of its construction, imbuing the idyllic setting with an intangible sense of disquietude. Metonymic of the natural world, these large-format photographs simultaneous provoke and unnerve the primitive desires they propagate.
