Tasman Richardson's latest works embrace the occult esthetic, but approached through human psychology rather than the mystical. The show is comprised of three pieces, a large wall projection and two intimate pieces, positioned in such a way to create both an external experience and introspection. The projection consists of religious imagery appropriated and rapidly juxtaposed to stir memories and encourage rapid free associations. It is set to high-speed tempo dance music. In contrast to this, are the two Oracle video displays named I and O. The video content is inspired by Rorschach tests, which allow the viewer to reflect and interpret the symmetrical patterns in a very personal and intimate way. The themes of reflection and self evaluation are reinforced by the use of one way mirrors build into the screens so that when the light of the image fades out, the reflection of the viewer stares back at them.
