Since 2007, Artis has hosted nearly 100 leading international museum directors, curators, writers and art professionals on our signature weeklong cultural research trips to Israel. This semi-annual program provides participants with an unparalleled opportunity to engage with the Israeli art community, explore historical and sociopolitical developments, delve into the contemporary context in which artistic production is taking place, and ultimately create a platform for projects and initiatives to emerge. Our trips have resulted in the inclusion of numerous Israeli artists in solo and group exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art and MoMA PS1; the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia; the International Center of Photography; the Neuberger Museum of Art; Art in General and Participant, Inc.; articles in ArtAsiaPacificArtforum, ArtReview, and Frieze; acquisitions at the Hammer Museum, the Carnegie Museum of Art, and the Des Moines Art Center; residencies, fellowships, exchanges and much more. Learn more and apply for our October 2013 trip.

Our tenth research trip took place between January 24 and 30, 2013, with an outstanding group of curators and writers from the Stedelijk Museum, Witte de With, New Museum of Contemporary Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, Miami Art Museum and more. View photos from our past trips, a list of our alumni, and a sample itinerary.
