Jake Fischer’s paintings are tied to moments in time, when the artist utilizes a video camera to record his everyday surroundings. Using video stills as reference, Fischer articulates a minimal and subdued palette that is reflective of the nocturnal landscape he documents. Fischer’s imagery recalls moonless nights when only artificial light sources reveal slices of urban civilization.
