> DESCRIPTION

Brian Kluge and Matt Repsher will share the gallery at Santa Fe Clay this June. They both utilize geometric architectural themes, weathered surfaces and familiar forms in their work.

Brian Kluge is currently a resident at the Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program in Roswell, NM. He recently received his MFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His megalithic non-representational sculptures express the effects of time on a surface and play with the extremes of contrasts.

Matt Repsher is an Adjunct Faculty at the University of New Mexico and also an instructor in the Santa Fe Clay studio. In viewing his pieces, one will see references to ancient structures and historical vessels. Scratched surfaces with blocked, muted colors decorate the red ceramic ware. Cutouts resemble the architecture of the Coliseum or of Moorish temples.
