Richard Levy Gallery is pleased to announce Jumble, an eclectic mix of editions by some of the most influential contemporary artists of the twenty-first century. This show includes a sampling of the wide range of printmaking processes being utilized today. World-renowned German photographer, Thomas Ruff, uses appropriated mathematic and physics renderings to produce his most recent series, Zycles. Matt Mullican put himself into a trance before composing a portfolio of etchings Eight Dead Two’s. Alex Katz silkscreens on cut aluminum create his editioned sculpture, Sunny, a bright faced hairy dog. Rings, a glossy silkscreen print by Sara Morris is inspired by architecture and urban environments. Thorsten Brinkmann uses discarded urban materials to mask his identity in his classical photographic self-portraits.
In the project room Richard Levy Gallery is showing, What doesn't float back will grow again after the fire, new drawings from local favorite, David Leigh. These quirky colored pencil drawings are delightfully bright and sinister. Leigh combines his counter culture, Disney-esque renderings with images of death and decay. Leigh is currently exhibiting nationally, and is a graduate from the University of New Mexico with his MFA in drawing and painting.
