Yes but, can she paint?

What is the common link between former Supreme Court Chief Justice Warren Burger, a country music disc jockey in Los Angeles, the only opera ever written about native Americans, a Press Secretary and Director of Communications for the Democratic National Committee, a syndicated consumer/economics reporter for ABC news, three Scotties, a 10 year old lime green Mercedes sportscar and oil paintings.
The link is an Eldorado woman named Charlotte Scot who is having the first show of her artwork in New Mexico.
Previously Scot has shown her works in Maine, California, Washington, DC, Connecticut and British Columbia where she graduated from the Victoria College of Art at University Canada West.
In the 70's, living in LA, Scot wrote music for Capitol/Beechwood, sang commercials for products like Kraft Parkay Margerine and Squirt Soft drink. and did bit parts in TV series like MacMillan and Wife. This led her to a Radio Show on KGBS AM & FM where she was a country music DJ. Her paintings were shown at the Varrooom Gallery in Beverly Hills and were purchased by a number of celebrities (Beau Bridges, Michael Constantine, etc.).
Tired of the fast lane, Scot moved to the slow beauty of Maine.  She bought a home and worked for a local television station. So much for the quiet life, her third interview was with a "guy running for President" named Jimmy Carter. Two weeks later she was running his press operations for the North Carolina primary. After the election, she was appointed Press Secretary/Director of Communications for the Democratic National Committee. The only person she knew in Washington (other than friends from the Carter staff) was Chief Justice Warren Burger (her cousin). (This did not please people at the DNC who felt Democrats should only speak  to Democrats.  Before she left she made them even unhappier by disclosing she was a registered Independent:-} After staying the one year she had promised she left  and became a consultant to the White House for Press/Media Advance.
After leaving Washington Scot returned to the news business ending up doing consumer/economic reporting for stations owned and operated by ABC NEWS. She also did a syndicated program called NEWSCOPE and co-anchored a series for illiterate adults called, LEARN TO READ.
In the 80's he returned to her first love, painting. Completely self-taught at that point she was part of several galleries and numerous shows in Maine and Connecticut.
When George Bush was about to be re-elected, she moved to Victoria, British Columbia receiving a diploma in fine art from the Victoria College of Art at University Canada West.
Returning to the states in 2007, she bought a house in Eldorado.
ps. Re the Opera about Native Americans, her Grandfather, Perry Starkweather Williams who descended from the Iroquois, wrote the libretto for an opera called Winona./ It was successfully produced in the 1930's in Oregon and Minnesota and is now in the Library of Congress.
