With nature as inspiration, Los Angeles-based artist Heather Lembcke paints abstract landscapes using techniques borrowed from ink drawing to render a consistent palette of line, form, and color. Her paintings recall nature's inexorable chaos, however beautiful in its simplicity, through dense patterns and brush strokes that reflect a sense of controlled disorganization.      [more]

Romero’s exhibition is loosely based on the late philosopher and author Vine Deloria’s idea of neo-tribalism, using existing Indigenous ideologies with new symbols that replace pre-existing ones to create new meanings.  The exhibit incorporates a series of historic Pueblo ideologies, primarily Pueblo dancer figures, juxtaposed with pop like imagery of a post-modern mainstream society.  It is Rome...   [more]

A community-wide prayer of abundance, thanks, and renewal, Grab Day exists at the intersection of traditional Native and contemporary Western cultures.
