I attended the opening of "Time, the Signs of Life" on June 5th at the University Club of Phoenix. University Clubs sprang up in the 1500's for the purpose of alike educated (men only at that time) people to share each others company. The location is quite lovely and the exhibition space is very charmng within a historical district of Phoenix, AZ. The show is very excellent with a particular emphasis of photography on display. The curator Clarke Riedy describes the theme of the exhibition as influenced by the latest developments in physics, astronomy, and cosmology, which included ideas of string theory, dark matter, and black holes among other things. Believing photography better suited as a medium to capture the spirit of these cosmic phenomenas, the curator has created a marvelous exhibit with a depth of talented photographers whose artistic prowess should not be missed.
