The mission of the Badè Museum of Biblical Archaeology is to preserve, research, interpret, and present to the public ancient artifacts and texts so as to promote the understanding and teaching of religious history, especially biblical history and the history of the biblical text.

The collections of the museum are rich in history, both ancient and modern. Spanning a period of some 3,000 years, the museum holds a phenomenal array of everyday artifacts such as cooking pots, grinding stones, and agricultural implements from ancient Palestine along with colorful Greek and Cypriot ceramics, scarabs from Egypt, cuneiform tablets from ancient Mesopotamia, and over 300 historic Bibles from around the world.

As part of our "Mining the Collection" series, each year a single artist is invited to create a body of work inspired by the Badè archaeology collection. The guest artist gains access to the entire Badè collection, spends time with staff archaeologists and curators, and conducts research that will drive their final exhibition. This series helps foster cross-disciplinary dialogue and brings to life significant artifacts from biblical times, placing them in a new contemporary context.
