Electric Works Gallery- now at 1360 Mission Street between 9th and 10th. Stop by for a tour of our new facility and an in-depth look at some of the exciting projects we have in the works.
In the gallery we are presenting treasures from our years of working with artists; projects that push the bounds of printmaking by the combining different printing modalities, handwork and applications. This print "Intrepid Scout Leader" by Julie Heffernan is a fine example of just one of our many projects.
While moving we discovered in our flat file drawers a huge cache of Jeremiah Maddock’s eccentric drawings of trance-like meditative patterns on book covers and plywood. We found other treasures in our inventory that had been stored away. So our flat files are open and so are we.
In our new location we are doing what we have done for years: serving the fine art community as a producer, publisher, gallery, educator, and dealer of limited-edition prints. We have state-of-the-art equipment in our full-service digital imaging department from our 4x5 digital camera to our 6 -foot wide archival printer. We offer the most complete digital fine art services in the Bay Area: from scanning to digital printing, portfolio archiving to limited edition book design.
The Store at Electric Works features unusual, eccentric, found-nowhere-else artist-created multiples, magazines, books, catalogs, flocked piggy banks and other unique, unusual items ranging in price from $5.00 to $500.00.
In our a gallery we exhibit projects published by Electric Works and a diverse selection of contemporary fine art from emerging, mid-career and established artists. Stay tuned for our fall lineup of dynamic exhibitions.
