Mirror Image: An Art Show about Body (Mis) Perceptions
May 21, 22, & 23, 2010
Curated by Becky Jaffe, Carrie-Andrea Kaye and Lanell Dike
What does your culture, age, gender, and personal identity say about how you should look and relate to your body and the bodies of others?
What is it about a person’s physical being that can create such intense and varied emotional responses in others? How are our emotional responses to human appearance learned (personally and/or culturally) vs. hard-wired?
How do the natural and chosen processes and transformations that people’s bodies go through influence the way you relate to those people?
Mirror Image explores body image and body (mis) perceptions.
