> DESCRIPTION

Part live video theater, part psychedelic insurrection, part animation road show, Cartune Xprez harnesses the energies of video artists who remix commercial imagery to the extent of anarchy and animate their way out of Sunday morning cartoons. Previous shows have included Paper Rad, Martha Colburn, Dearrraindrop, and Shana Moulton, who have since been featured in the Whitney Biennial, the MOMA in New York, the Sundance Film Festival, and many others.  Cartune Xprez is a touchstone of the genre, and a rare opportunity to see videos by Nate Boyce, Sebastian Buerkner, David Daniels, Christine Gensheimer, Taras Hrabowsky, Stu Hughes, Parker Ito, Rimas Sakalauskas, Allison Schulnik, Jim Trainor, and Markus Vater. Adding to the spectacle, Peter Burr and Christopher Doulgeris’ Hooliganship will combine videos, music, and installation to create their electroluminescent stage show “CASTL CRNRS”.
