> DESCRIPTION
Bean and Alan Finneran moved to San Francisco in l972 and began to develop a "hybrid style" of visual theatre that gave equal weight to projected imagery, large kinetic sculpture, original music, and live performers. A group of collaborators was formed and worked under the name SOON 3. An historical presentation of Soon 3 will be shown at the Braunstein/Quay Gallery, leading up to new photographs by Alan Finneran and new ceramic work by Bean Finneran. Since l999, Alan Finneran, influenced by his past work in SOON 3, continues to photograph the isolation of the individual in their psychological and physical landscapes. Bean Finneran a past performer who created sculptural landscapes as a component of Soon 3 Theater begins her sculpture installations with an 'empty stage'. Braunstein/Quay Gallery will exhibit new sculptures composed of thousands of individual ceramic curves that Bean Finneran used in recent sculptures in an ancient chapel in Vallauris, France and at an invitational biennale in Seoul, Korea. |
