Djs CeeStar and Chicken! Get out of that Tree!
Joy’s work seeks pleasure through the instantaneous vibrancy of colors and imagery that induces tasteful tongue experiences. Inspired by the synesthetic experience, her work encourages physical pleasure through visual pleasure. With bright colors popping off of each other the spectators vision is altered, leaving them mouth watering, dizzy, and excited. Bon Bon is a new collection of work including minimal paintings, collages with found objects such as candy and toys, and digital collages created with found images of pop icons, human anatomy, and dated technology. These images depict issues of nostalgia, playful function, involuntary reactions and desire. She earned her B.F.A. from San Francisco Art Institute in 1006. A peninsula native, she lives and works in San Francisco .
