> DESCRIPTION

Exploring identity through pop culture, comics and superheroes. Come be a superhero with queer literary legends, zinesters, and graphic art gurus.

Femina Potens is proud to present Cristy Road, whose recently released illustrated novel BAD HABITS was just nominated for a Lambda Award! Michelle Tea, author of the graphic novel RENT GIRL and comic CARRIER, will be reading brand new work from her adventures in Paris. Mari Naomi, brilliant illustrator and zinester for ESTRUS COMICS, will be sharing her images and reading from her works. Writer and photographer Rhiannon Argo will be reading from her charming zines. Annie Danger, amazing performance artist, video artist and interventionist, will be premiering a performance piece envisioning queer superhero culture. Last time Annie performed for FP it involved lots of chocolate syrup, takedowns and a baby pool. So get ready for a splash and bring your cape!

A Q&A panel with the authors and performers follows. Tap into a creative process where wordsmiths and illustrative geniuses meet to cultivate dialogue and reflection in our communities.
