> DESCRIPTION

111 Minna Gallery is proud to present "First Things First", an exhibition showcasing both well established and emerging talents. The gallery will be hosting an opening reception on Thursday, January 8, 2009 with many of the artists in attendance. The opening is free and open to members of the public 21 and over. Minna Gallery is located at the corner of Minna and 2nd Streets in SOMA, San Francisco's vibrant arts and nightlife district.

Our aim is to present a number of promising young artists side by side with established talent that have both been underexposed in the Bay Area. The collection has been assembled by 111 Minna Gallery Curator Gabe Scott, 111 Minna Associate Curator Jay Howell and former Upper Playground Associate Curator Lainya Magana. A fresh perspective on two-dimensional creations will be represented from the United States, Brazil, Germany, Slovenia and Australia and will encompass painting, collage, architectural design as well as street installations.
