Loss is one of life’s profound experiences, inevitable and universal. We encounter it in many guises, from the very personal to the broader societal, and bear it in individual ways. In this exhibition, the artists explore the nature of loss and our varied reactions to it. Each artist addresses a different aspect of loss from his or her own perspective. Yet each situation is familiar and poignant to each of us: the enormous sorrow and destruction of war, the small overlooked losses of everyday, the shattered glass left by an accident, the places you can never again visit, the decline of a community through neglect, the locomotives that have ceased to rumble, the emptiness when a loved one has gone.

The exhibition will include an interactive war memorial by Thomas Lavin. Visitors will be encouranged to leave items at the memorial's shrine throughout the exhibition's run.
