> DESCRIPTION

Matjas’ massive digital/analog prints, which combine graphite drawings with overlaid vector drawings create a twisted world in which manmade objects and consumer excesses are fused with diorama-like views of the natural world. Existing somewhere between paleontology and “garbology,” this work meshes vacuum cleaners, traffic cones, coolers, and other invasive “species” directly alongside California’s distinctive flora and fauna.

Reception, March 6, 5 - 7pm. Artist talk, 5pm.
