This program is co-presented by Museum of the African Diaspora and the 9th Annual CubaCaribe Dance Festival
Join us for a lecture and painting demonstration with Silfredo Lo O. He is a dancer and a visual artist. He merges his history as an Afro-Cuban and modern dance performer with his present as a visual artist. He incorporates Afro-Cuban spirituality and the modern cityscape and technology of the U.S. He is interested in making work that mirrors his experience as an Afro-Cuban immigrant in transition, and represents the disparity and integration that is born from the intensity of rupture and being re-born.
The 9th Annual CubaCaribe Dance Festival will present performances, workshops and demonstration/lectures by master and emerging Caribbean and Latino musicians and choreographers, each offering a unique look at the power of people and their use of music and dance to overcome daily trials.
