ONE DAY ONLY: Make appointments here.

On April 21, Pete and Kara are taking over the City Limits living room and kitchen and they want you to come hang out. Pete’s going to be screening video work and Kara’s going to be styling hair. Come have some beer, eat some food, get a new do, get your beard trimmed, and watch some videos they have picked out especially for you.

Why? Why not?

Many moons ago, Pete Hickok lived in Brazil above a salon where he was re-educated in the art of conversation, moving slowly, loud music, cigarettes, and beauty.  Sometimes he likes to make art about it.  Sometimes he just drinks cachaca and pretends he’s still there.

Kara Q. Smith grew up hanging around hair salons and used to cut and style hair in her dorms in college. She is interested in the continuum between past and present selves; identity and shared experience; and likes finding new ways to have conversation about life and art [and country music and whiskey].

Sign up for an appointment time here. Be sure to show up for your appointment on time. You’ll spend some time looking at artwork and some time getting your hair done (you’ll choose from a menu of options ranging from totally impermanent to overall transformation, completely up to you) and we guarantee you’ll have a good time.
