Climate Curatorial Collective announces “The Hyena Report,” an installation by resident artist Dorian Katz at the Climate Theater, SF.

In conjunction with the Folsom Street Fair, the public is invited to experience Katz’s exploration of the hyena as a metaphor and totem of outsider identity and sexuality.

“The Hyena Report” illustrates adult themes in a childlike style through text and images, referencing educational articles on animals and children’s books. Katz uses an anthropomorphic illustration style, and fanciful hand lettering in an iridescent palette to create a blend of fact and fiction about hyenas. The mixed media illustrations tease the boundaries between the cute and the nasty.
