aitlin Foster produces meticulous, controlled drawings that capture the detailed chaos of pattern in natural forms. Influenced by the landscape of California and natural history research, she also incorporates inevitable hints of the man-made, with influences including film and textiles.
Ms Foster received her degree in art from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts/Tufts University in Boston, Mass. She moved to San Francisco in 2007 but the East Coast drew her back and she moved to Brooklyn, New York in 2010.
Her work has been part of many group exhibitions in San Francisco, New York and Chicago as well as New Haven, Connecticut and Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Several of her drawings have been published in The Believer magazine and Bidoun Magazine.
Chandler Fine Art is pleased to present her first solo exhibition in the gallery.
