"Pop Yer Cherry in Da Gender Galaxy" This is a closing reception for "Pop Yer Cherry in Da Gender Galaxy," an installation by resident artists shiloh burton and Nicole Repack (aka Jocelyn Superstar). The show is a culmination of the collaboration between the two artists and the inaugural exhibition at the new MicroClimate Project Space at the Climate Theater, SF. During the months of July and August the two artists created stencils that popularize gender issues. The stencils are imagery from THE Gender Intelligence Agency (G.I.A.) including the Uni-let, a design for the Universal Toilet; and the words "per" and "pe" (pronounced pay), inclusive gender pronouns. The artists are using a play on words in a self-created intersection of performance, pop-art, graffiti, activism, education, and 60's-happenings.
