Legendary gallery owner and jazzman Charles Campbell for half a century exhibited and befriended artists in San Francisco, including the major players in the Bay Area Figurative Movement. At 97, he remains enthusiastic about fine art, music and wine.
For years his gallery presented an annual “Twenty-Five Treasures” exhibition that highlighted the wide-ranging artistic gems to be found in the gallery and its always-interesting back rooms. Now we are honored to present more than 25 “Treasures from the Charles and Glenna Campbell Collection” — work he and his wife, the artist Glenna Putt, kept for themselves, much of which came directly from their friends. At long last, they have decided to part with some of their personal treasures. A catalog is available.
