it's our birthday, lets celebrate!
a year ago merchants of reality
propped our gate and opened
our door(s) to the public,
claiming space as an alternative
creative force. we have realized
our dream of a 24 hour artist
studio in the SOMA . . .
since arriving at 285 9th st,
we have adapted our space
to include painting, textiles,
video, music recording, screen
printing, culinary arts, dark
room, wood working, & any
inspiration that takes hold.
we joined forces in November 2010,
7 artists & master craftspeople
seeking our foot hold. a community,
tired of squandering our talent
on menial day jobs. we required
collaborators willing to leap;
we sought out an alternate reality.
after a good deal of deliberation,
we found our perfect space and
got to work. the night we signed
our lease, we began tearing out
the carpet.
we.ve yet to put downour tools. constructing reality
has proven a delicate task.
this year has been a whirlwind
& we.re happy to report that
we believe in infinite potential.
