For our spring exhibition, Modernbook Gallery is excited to showcase images by award-winning photographer Tom Chambers. The exhibition will introduce Tom’s new series, Illuminations, and also highlight images from earlier bodies work: Ex Votos, Rites of Passage, Entropic Kingdom, Marwari, and Dreaming in Reverse. The exhibition coincides with the release of Tom Chambers’ new book, Entropic Kingdom, published by Modernbook Editions.
Tom Chambers’ fine art career began in the late 1990s, as he experimented with a Photoshop that was still in its infancy. Since then, he has become a master of photomontage, often referring to his work as‘magic realism’ – the creation fanciful images that may appear true, but contain an air of improbability. Dominant themes in his work are children and animals in nature, spirituality, personal identity, and coexistence.
