The noted designer-artist-architect Johanna Grawunder graduated in architecture in 1983 from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo after attending her final year of studies at its campus in Florence, Italy. She now maintains offices in Milan and San Francisco. She is also acclaimed for her visionary work in lighting and furniture design, having created both limited-edition and one-off studio pieces as well as industrial collaborations with such noted Italian firms as Flos, Boffi, and Salviatti. Her work has been shown in important galleries in Europe and the U.S., including Gallery Mourmans in Maastricht, the Netherlands, and the Design Gallery Milano in Milan.
