> DESCRIPTION

"Blue" is a group show of work by gallery artists Jesse AllenKuan ChangLinda HopeKumi KorfAlexis Manheim and Marsha Mc Donald.

It is inspired by "Blue", the first film in the three-colors trilogy by Krzysztof Kieslowski. The other two films are "Red" and "White. The colors reference the bars on the French flag. Blue represents liberty, red equality and white fraternity. Blue is the anti-tragedy, red the anti-romance and white the anti-comedy.

Roger Ebert said of Kieslowski, "He is one of the filmmakers I would turn to for consolation if I learned I was dying or to laugh on finding out I would live after all."

I hope the work in this show has the same effect.
