Headlands Center for the Arts brings two of its 2012 Artists in Residence to present free lectures at California College of the Arts in San Francisco. The first lecture in this series, on Monday, November 14th, will be hosted by Liam Young. Young's work tells stories of possible future scenarios through demonstrations of idiosyncratic animal robotic apparatus in specific environments. The second lecture will be a presentation by the 2010 Turner Prize Nominees The Otolith Group, on Friday, November 18th. The Otolith Group's work engages with the legacies and potentialities of documentary practice, the essay film, the archive, cosmopolitan modernisms, speculative futures and science-fictions.
