> DESCRIPTION

What are the ethics of memory?  Who and what is a contemporary memorial for?

This group show considers the difficult subject of death: the specter that haunts our present and shadows our future.  Through various visual strategies, these artists address the incomprehensible subject of their own death, the irredeemable loss of others, and the political, social, and environmental grief that permeates contemporary culture.
