Opening Friday, April 4, 2008. A second reception will be held Friday, May 2, 2008.
Featuring
three installation artists who create works of spaces whether they be
exterior or interior; physical or psychological.
Judith White
Judith White is an Australian born artist whose art involves both
painting and sculpture, often sculpting with the paint itself, so thick
that her canvases almost jump off the wall.
Her
bas relief canvas pieces actually do! Judith creates scenes that you
can get into and explore, like the dioramas in natural history museums
that she enjoyed as a kid.
Danny Scheible
Danny Scheible creates sculptures built on the streets and assembled in
his studio. Consisting primarily of thousands of masking tape forms,
his new work, ATLAS, integrates everyday objects and is interactive.
Danny’s ATLAS is losing his grip on the world, calling into question
the play of myth in the world.
Art Hazelwood
Art Hazelwood continues his rich history of social and political
commentary through his paintings which inspires him to constantly push
the envelope, always striving for edgier pieces that enable others to
make strong connections with the art and the messages it conveys. His
prints bring his own satirical edge to Contemporary America.
The opening reception will be held from 7pm-10pm in conjunction with Oakland Art Murmur First Fridays (www.oaklandartmurmur.com).
The exhibit will run until May 24, 2008.
