Cotton Mill Studios’ F3 Open Studios Art Reception

Friday, April 15, 6 to 10 p.m.

Meet the artists and enjoy light fare and beverages. Party Karty will be in attendance.

The beautiful and historic live/work Cotton Mill Studios, located in the Jingletown Arts District in East Oakland, will be exhibiting the artwork of resident artists and non-residential guest artists for its third F3 (Third Fridays) exhibition, in addition to a fashion designer runway show. Exhibiting artwork consists of various media including painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry, fashion, mixed media, and furniture.

 

Among the exhibiting Cotton Mill Studios artists are:

Dee Adams (acrylic on canvas/abstract painting); Tamara “Red” Arthun and High Flyer Espresso (oil and gouache painting on canvas); b1c1 (sculpture); Tyese Cooper (personal wardrobe styling and design); Monika Harris and Victor Knai in collaboration (ink, watercolor, and mixed media); RW Hawkins Photography (black and white, silver gelatin prints); Chris Palmatier (artwork on paper, sculpture, and furniture); Adele Richert (painting in oil, watercolor, mixed media, and jewelry design); Catherine Rose (owner of Slinky Productions, exotic pole/lap dance instruction company, with pole dance demo for guests 18+); Halleh Seddighzadeh (jewelry); Candy Stoner (painting using oil, collage, and mixed media); and Susan Tuttle (photography and jewelry).

 

Zoe Hong and Kenneth Todd of Cotton Mill Studios will present a multi-designer fashion show, featuring Ken Chen San Francisco and LHC Couture, among others. The fashion show will take place on the Third Floor and will be divided into two segments. The Design Bazaar will take place in various suites and will feature work from Zoe Hong, Plume Noir, Bamboozled, Lace Project, LHC Couture, Peasants & Travelers, Promise’s Parasols, Adele Richert Fine Art and Jewelry Design, Barbary Brix, Kelly Bennett Millinery, Ken Chen San Francisco, Graveyard Shift, Maggie Hurley, Tidal Ware Jewelry, Susan Tuttle Designs, Velvet Otterhound, and others.

 

Additionally, the following guest artists will be exhibiting:
Marianne Bickett (acrylic and collage painting); Cherie Chavez (photography); Erica Kremenak (oil, pigment, and mixed media painting); Peter Maiden (photography); Vlad Margulis (acrylic on canvas painting); Nicholas Powell (drawing, mixed media, and painting); and Momoko Sudo (LineScaping painting, drawing, and mixed media).

FLOAT Gallery, located in the Cotton Mill Studios building, will be open from 6 to 9 p.m., with the exhibit “Sacred Terrain” featuring photography by Cathy Shine and plasma sculpture by Ed Kirshner. http://www.thefloatcenter.com www.thefloatcenter.com

 

Free shuttle transportation will be provided to and from the Fruitvale BART Station to Cotton Mill Studios from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Look for the F3 logo on two Town Cars.
