In our world, we are consistently forced to look back and observe which of our ideas were successful and which of our ideas failed in our initial intent. Sketchbooks are an integral part of the artist's process for this very reason. They function not only as tools for personal development and growth, but also as living, evolving archives of the artist's thoughts, ideas and experiences.

Seeking to no longer brand the sketchbook as a transient medium, ReTrace features sketchbooks both as tools of the creative process and as finished pieces in and of themselves. In addition, a selection of final works of all media are presented alongside their sketchbook counterparts as charts to the stages of development.
