> DESCRIPTION

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Come and feast your eyes and ears on visual and performance art that literally sheds light in the darkness. BLACKOUT will be on view at the Root Division gallery from February 6th - 23rd, 2008, and the opening night will feature local musicians, site-specific sound performances, & other light-based experimentations. BLACKOUT is presented as one of a continuing series of evocative events at Root Division opening on the Second Saturday of each month and is part of a new program fostering the growth of emerging artists.

At this pivotal and paradoxical time in the season when the days finally begin to stretch out while the winter settles in, we bring you an exhibition gathering together visual artists and performers who create illuminated work and/or explore what it means to be in the dark.  The only light in the gallery will be that of the art itself.  In true bacchanalia fashion, the soundtrack to this event will be wild and varied. We invite you to come and see eclectic and electric art presented in its truest environment.
