Fort Gallery is pleased to present Through The Dark of Night, a solo exhibition of recent collage and sculpture by San Francisco artist Ryan Coffey.

Through the Dark of Night synthesizes Native American imagery, magazine clippings, mysticism and the American literary tradition to probe the mental, physical and emotional boundaries of the contemporary frontier.  Coffey eschews easy references. His uneasy American dream is burdened by its loss of heroes and exhilarated by its own expansiveness.

Ryan Coffey was born in Chicago. He studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York and the Art Institute of San Francisco. This is his second solo exhibition in the Bay Area.
