Diego Rivera Gallery - SF Art Institute

Recognizing that faculty and staff are productive artists in their own right, the show Artists Leading Artists intends to celebrate the academic tradition in which established artists lead new generations of artists, while the students inspire them in return. Frida Cano -Fundacion/Coleccion Jumex scholar and Claudia Schidlow, current EMS students at SFAI, develop a project in which collaboration between students and faculty occurs. Both Diego Rivera Gallery -at the 800 Chestnut St. campus- and Swell Gallery -at SFAI´s Graduate Campus- will function as the laboratory in which this adventure will occur. The space and light conditions of the Diego Rivera Gallery will encourage more traditional work to be displayed, in comparison with the Swell Gallery where media based works will take place.
