> DESCRIPTION
Living in California, chances are you live within miles of a prison. In
the last 10 years, close to two dozen prisons have been built within
the state. This group exhibition takes a broad and varied look at how
the California Prison system affects us all on a social, environmental,
economic, and human level. Combining information gathered from months
of research and from our Prison Project Community Advisory Network,
this exhibition features new work from a number of Bay Area artists in
sculpture, video, photography, graphic design, and installation, and
work from the inside. This project runs concurrently with an exhibition
at the Fine Arts Gallery at San Francisco State University.
