Each woman artist has her own consciousness-raising process supported by the ideology of art history, experience, culture and knowledge. While her own subject matter can become intimate and personal, the personal becomes political by making it publicly recognizable. Therefore, her creative act of transforming her statement into her art is her Being. This exhibition is about how women are creating a visual language through which they give form to their own experience and creative process. The art is about the present, past and future, with varying meanings, techniques and in different contexts.
The Upcoming-Invitational and Juried Exhibition, ““Women’s Contemporary Art Exhibition, Focus 2010,” will highlight “What Are Women Artists Doing? Those women artist selected from this juried competition will have the honor of their work shown with the highly acclaimed invited artists listed.
