Summer Exhibitions - June 20 - September 4, 2010
Opening Reception – June 18, 7-9pm (Admission is free)

Three exhibitions from June 20 - September 4, 2010, present an opportunity to reflect on how Surrealism has permeated contemporary artists’ imagery, and process. Opening reception will be held on June 18, 7-9pm. SECRET DRAWINGS takes its inspiration from the Surrealist approach in creating unexpected, collaborative drawings through a method entitled exquis cadavre or exquisite corpse, while DREAM SEQUENCES features six ceramic figures by masters in the medium Michael Lucero, Beverly Mayeri, Sergei Isupov, Lydia Buzio, and Jason Walker. The work by Ruth Marten and John Hundt in SURREAL REINVENTIONS features composite imagery that may evoke exquisite corpse collages by Max Ernst, or other Surrealists from the early 20th century.
