Selling Specialist 2, General | MoMA Design and Book Store
Drive sales and the highest level of customer service by greeting and engaging customers, responding to inquiries, and assisting in making selections. Approach shoppers with knowledge of product assortment and aid in their decision-making with the goal of increasing conversion and average transaction amounts. Assist in the merchandising of fixtures in accordance with store/corporate standards, ensuring optimal stock levels and presentation. Partner with assistant manager of sales in assessing product performance and providing feedback to both store management and corporate product management teams. Partner with assistant manager of staff in coordinating and delivering sales and product training. Assists with annual physical and periodic mini inventories. Perform various cash register activities such as sales, returns, and name and e-mail capture. Assist in various stock-handling activities such as receiving, stocking, and replenishment. Reports to store managers.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred. Minimum two years retail experience or related. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability and desire to deliver a high level of customer service. Art book knowledge and merchandising experience a plus. Ability to perform physical tasks as needed. Ability to work afternoon and weekend hours. Basic computer knowledge necessary. Fluency in a foreign language a plus.
Senior Registrar Assistant | Collection Management and Exhibition Registration
Assists senior Registrar staff on assigned exhibitions or collection tasks, including correspondence with lenders, borrowers, donors, and vendors to arrange packing, shipping, insurance, and courier arrangements for works of art related to assigned projects. Compiles associated documentation; examines and records condition of works; creates and maintains files for loans and objects; arranges trips for couriers when required; and serves as courier as needed. Reports to senior Registrar staff.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (Master’s degree preferred) and minimum one year related experience in the art field, preferably in an art museum with ambitious exhibitions, acquisitions, and outgoing loan programs or equivalent. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. General knowledge of 20th-century art and familiarity with artists' materials is also required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Reading knowledge of French and/or another foreign language. Experience with TMS/Gallery Systems a plus.
