The Bella Mujer: A Forum for Women

As the inspirational and creative guide for La Bella Mujer, I’d like to introduce myself. Most people know me as an established artist and painter, not so many as a creativity coach, graphic designer and art educator, or as an aspiring author and workshop facilitator.

I’m also the mother of four unbelievably amazing children (I know I’m biased, but it’s actually true!) Now that they are grown, I’m chronicling our escapades as an “unschooling” family and the challenges and joys of home-based learning. I’ve spent over 28 years learning about human psychology and the brain, inner healing, art therapy, and a life in the arts and creativity.

There’s a lot more to my story than my artistic and professional biography. I’m deeply indebted to my yoga practice, for example, because my sanity literally depends on it.

I’ve worked with lots of people in all sorts of places and circumstances, including mega-corporations, small companies, and non-profits. Many of them have been women from all walks of life. I hear their stories and understand their struggles and hardships as well as their triumphs and joys.  I long to be a part of  a larger community of women where we support, encourage and inspire one another. La Bella Mujer hopes to serve in propelling you to achieve our dreams and make life-altering changes.

You probably have a different story that affected the course of your life. Perhaps you have quite a few of them.  Like a cat with nine lives, we evolve from one chapter to another.  La Bella Mujer’s mission statement will be simple, yet complex. Because our stories are complex. And also very amazing and miraculous.
