IN/EN GENDER is a promenade through a
scattergraph of gender; a multimedia exhibit and a
late-night happening that examines our Westernized
preoccupation with sexual identities & cultural
gender expectations.

On a coordinate graph, participating artists will
identify their sex and gender identities; this ‘map’
will become the exhibit’s floor plan. The work shown
does not need to relate to the curation theme: the
artists’ identity is data, and the work is a specimen.

This open call for all media, e.g. music,
performance, visual, & digital art,
will exhibit at Gala Gallery, located at
1000 North Milwaukee Ave, on
Saturday, December 8, 2012.

Each selected artist will have
the opportunity for high-quality
documentation, press exposure, media
interviews, and audience outreach
including youth-oriented talkbacks.
