FACILITES & VISUAL ARTS COORDINATOR
Part Time, $16.00 Hourly
30 hours per week
FACILITES & VISUAL ARTS COORDINATOR is responsible for facilities maintenance for all
buildings, grounds and departments within CCA and for assisting with technical aspects
of exhibitions and other visual arts programming. This position is managed by both the
Operations Director and the Visual Arts Director.
Essential duties for Facilities Coordination include: managing CCA’s facilities such as fire
and security systems, HVAC and swamp coolers, electrical and lighting, plumbing and
water, building surfaces and signage, landscaping and grounds, trash and recycling,
daily operations, inventories, and cleanliness. This person must oversee a large group of
vendors, contractors, and preparators necessary for CCA’s facilities’ optimal operation.
As Visual Arts Coordinator, essential duties include troubleshooting and managing
technical aspects of exhibitions and visual arts-related events, working as the liaison
between the curator and the artist(s) – helping to insure a smooth and polished
presentation of the work. This person must be a strong communicator, be organized and
conduct work in a professional manner, be able to direct small groups and manage hired
preparators and artists, and possess necessary skills for handling, installing, and de-
The Facilities & Visual Arts Coordinator must be very self-motivated and accountable.
Much of the work will be self-driven, based on his or her understanding of what is
required to accomplish a range of disparate tasks in a timely and professional manner.
Maintenance of all CCA facilities, including but not limited to:
• Fire and security systems
• HVAC and swamp coolers
• Electrical and lighting
• Plumbing and water
• Building surfaces and signage
• Landscaping and grounds, including parking lots and driveways
• Trash and recycling
• Daily operations, inventories, and cleanliness
Essential duties related to Facilities Coordination:
• Use / maintain vendor list
• Keep working knowledge of various systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
• Get expert help where needed
• Respond to problems as they arise
Maintain inventory of all A/V and rental related equipment (chairs, tables,
etc.), working with other departments, renters, partner organizations, to keep
track of equipment and ensure proper use
Keep track of all keys
Schedule regular cleaning, yard work, etc.
Coordination of Visual Arts technical components include but are not limited to:
Work with curator to develop plans for producing exhibitions and events (see
Coordinate and schedule preparators for installation and de-installation of
exhibitions and oversee/manage their work on-site.
Coordinate with artists to troubleshoot all technical aspects of their exhibition,
particularly hired prep help, tools, etc.
Help curator and artists plan for risks and necessary technical considerations
Assist with technical aspects of installation, as needed, particularly lighting,
projection, AV, sound, and non-traditional install.
Ensure that CCA facilities are used responsibly by staff, artists, volunteers,

Assist with shipping, receiving, unpacking, storing, installing, and handling of

The right candidate for this position has at least two years experience working in the
arts. He or she should have experience overseeing groups of people and working in a
project-based manner. The FACILITES & VISUAL ARTS COORDINATOR should be self-
directed, thorough, team-oriented, a quick problem-solver, a clear-communicator and
maintain a high standard of excellence. Gallery preparation, theater production or
related technical experience is very much preferred.
