About Adult Continuing Education:
The ACE non-credit course offerings at SFAI encourage students in their conceptual and technical development, while building basic knowledge and confidence in the areas of art history and theory, design and technology, drawing, film, painting, photography, printmaking, new genres, and sculpture. Courses typically meet once a week from 7:30-10:30 p.m. or on weekends from 10am-1 p.m. for 12 weeks and take place at the 800 Chestnut St. campus. We also strongly encourage proposals for innovative workshops and alternative format courses.
Proposals are being accepted for the following semesters:
Spring 2012 Dates: January 30-April 28
Summer 2012 Dates: June 4-August 15
Fall 2012 Dates: September 10-December 8
Tuesday, September 13 at noon @ Chestnut Street in the McMillan Conference Room
Wednesday, September 14 at noon @ the Third Street Lecture Hall
To be considered, we must receive a cover letter indicating your interest in the position and your semester and day-of-the-week availability, a paragraph-length description of each course that you would like to teach, a current CV or resume, a brief artist bio, a CD of 10 to 15 images of your work or link to your online portfolio, and three references with phone numbers and e-mail addresses. Supplemental materials including a sample syllabus, a lesson plan, a teaching statement, and sample student work are strongly encouraged.
